Job Title: Procurement Specialist – Electrical Systems (High-Rise Construction) Location: Vaughan, ON (On-site) Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 base About the Role We are hiring a Procurement Specialist with deep experience sourcing electrical components and systems for high-rise construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring all electrical materials are procured on time, compliant with Canadian codes, and aligned with project drawings (as-builts and specifications). You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to manage the full procurement lifecycle for complex electrical systems. What You’ll Be Buying (Scope Breakdown ) :Building electrical systems High rise. 1. Power Distribution Systems Switchgear, transformers, main distribution panels (MDP) Circuit breakers, panelboards, busways, and feeders Low/medium voltage equipment used to distribute power across the building 2. Wiring & Infrastructure Conduits, cable trays, wiring, junction boxes, fittings Vertical risers and floor-level distribution systems All materials required to move electricity across floors and units 3. Life Safety & Backup Systems Fire alarm systems, emergency lighting Backup generators, UPS systems Emergency power distribution and transfer switches 4. Building Systems Integration Electrical for HVAC, pumps, elevators, and mechanical equipment Metering systems and digital monitoring equipment Integration with building automation systems (BAS) 5. Site & Compliance Requirements CSA-certified electrical products only Materials aligned with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) Procurement tied directly to drawings, specs, and inspection phases Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end procurement of electrical materials for high-rise projects Perform detailed material take-offs (MTO/BOM) from drawings and as-builts Source and negotiate with electrical suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers Identify and manage long-lead items (switchgear, transformers, generators, etc.) Ensure all materials meet CSA certification and project specifications Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and engineers Track deliveries, resolve shortages, and avoid project delays Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate pricing, quality, and performance Qualifications 5+ years of procurement experience in construction or electrical projects Strong knowledge of electrical components and systems -high-rise mandatory. Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and as-builts Experience working with electrical contractors or developers Experience sourcing: Switchgear, panels, transformers Cabling, conduit, and electrical infrastructure Fire alarm and emergency systems Familiar with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and CSA requirements Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Background in electrical engineering, electrician (309A/442A), or MEP projects
