About the Company Our client is looking for experienced Gameplay Capture Directors to support fast-moving trailer and social-content projects for major video game titles. About the Role This is a freelance project-based opportunity suited to someone who can lead gameplay capture teams, shape cinematic shot direction, and deliver compelling in-game footage under tight timelines. Projects may begin with as little as one week’s notice and typically run for approximately three weeks at full-time hours. Candidates based in Quebec are preferred, though experienced professionals from elsewhere in Canada will also be considered. Responsibilities Lead gameplay capture projects from briefing through footage delivery Direct Capture Technicians and Capture Artists with varying levels of experience Collaborate with US-based creative teams, editors, producers, and post-production partners Develop detailed shot lists that highlight key gameplay, environments, characters, and features Direct and capture visually compelling in-game footage Apply cinematic principles such as Lighting, Field of ViewPerspective, Camera movement Work across both single-player and multiplayer game environments Ensure the correct in-game footage is captured for editorial and campaign needs Review takes and identify the strongest footage for downstream editing Cut sequences and organize footage for editors using Adobe Premiere Pro Troubleshoot technical issues across PC and console platforms Coordinate with technical and creative teams to solve capture challenges Maintain focus on quality, deadlines, and project objectives in a fast-paced production environment Qualifications Professional experience in gameplay capture, cinematic capture, or game trailer production Experience leading or directing a team of Capture Technicians and Capture Artists Strong understanding of cinematic language and camera direction Excellent visual composition and storytelling instincts Experience creating shot lists and planning gameplay sequences Strong technical knowledge of PC and console gaming environments Advanced troubleshooting skills Understanding of post-production and editorial pipelines Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro Ability to work quickly and confidently with limited lead time Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to explain complex creative and technical ideas clearly Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to go deep technically while maintaining deadlines. Preferred SkillsExperience working on AAA or globally distributed video game titles Experience across multiple game genres Familiarity with multiplayer capture workflows Knowledge of trailer structure, pacing, and marketing objectives Experience collaborating with remote or US-based creative teams Quebec-based availability Strong knowledge of gaming culture and audience expectations Interested candidates should apply with a resume and portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant gameplay capture, trailer, cinematic, or in-game camera work.
