About the Role We're looking for an experienced Estimator with a proven track record preparing competitive bids for large commercial and municipal landscape maintenance and snow and ice management contracts. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating public procurement platforms such as MERX, interpreting complex tender documents, developing accurate pricing, and coordinating successful bid submissions. You'll work closely with our Sales and Operations teams to develop winning bids while ensuring projects are priced accurately and profitably. What You'll Do Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements to determine project scope. Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial landscape maintenance and snow and ice management contracts. Coordinate and prepare complete tender submissions for municipal, provincial, and government opportunities. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and identify potential risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors while sourcing new qualified partners. Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Identify project risks and provide recommendations during bid reviews. Assist with tender closings and ensure submissions meet all deadlines and compliance requirements. Monitor pricing trends and maintain historical bid data to improve estimating accuracy. Communicate with clients and contract administrators to clarify tender requirements. Work closely with Sales Account Managers and Operations to develop accurate labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing. Develop estimating metrics and production standards to improve future bids. Continuously improve estimating processes and tools. What We're Looking For 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial landscaping, civil construction, property maintenance, or snow and ice management. Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting large public sector tenders through procurement platforms such as MERX, Biddingo, Bonfire, or similar electronic bidding systems. Strong understanding of municipal, provincial, and government procurement processes. Ability to interpret tender specifications, drawings, contracts, and bid documents. Experience developing accurate labour, equipment, material, subcontractor, and overhead pricing. Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Technology, or a related field is considered an asset. Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with estimating software is considered an asset. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
