Job Purpose Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. As an intern in magnetic design team, you will be an active member of the magnetic design team for electric motors. You will be in the role to support magnetic designers in various aspects including simulation, data processing, testing report preparation, design tool programming. Job Duties and Responsibilities Build magnetic and thermal model Perform motor electromagnetic and thermal simulation. Perform basic motor thermal simulation in MotorCad Run basic structural analysis, support detailed analysis to structure team Engage in multi-physical motor design tool development-Programming in Matlab and Python Assist Magnetic core characterization on loss and B(H) curve Support to prepare test and validation report on performance and motor durability. Education and Qualifications Master or PhD student in electrical engineering, preferred electrical machine and drive domainSkills and Competencies Basic knowledge on electrical motor components and functionality Strong programming skill in Matlab and Python Basic knowledge of cooling system principle Preference to have basic knowledge of magnetic and insulation materials. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong learning ability and proactive Intership details The internship is full-time during the fall term, five days per week, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Occasional remote work may be considered, depending on operational needs and at the intern’s request.We offer flexible working hours, as well as a morning and evening shuttle service from the Longueuil metro station to facilitate commuting to the Boucherville site.The hourly rate ranges from $24.00 to $27.75, depending on the candidate’s level of education.

Ce que vous ferez

Support the magnetic design team by performing electromagnetic and thermal simulations for electric motors. Develop multi-physical design tools using Matlab and Python and prepare test and validation reports.

Exigences

Requires a Master's or PhD student in Electrical Engineering, preferably specializing in electrical machines and drives. Must possess strong programming skills in Matlab and Python and basic knowledge of motor components and cooling systems.
