Dawson Construction is looking for an experienced and motivated Superintendent, Maintenance Asphalt & Crushing who can oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the facility and equipment. In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a permanent, full-time position of Superintendent, Maintenance Asphalt & Crushing reporting to the Manager, Equipment & Assets. The Superintendent will be responsible for all maintenance on the crushing and screening plants and onsite facets of asphalt production including; safety, maintenance, quality, cleanup, and relocating plants. Your base location will be the Knutsford B.C., and will require some travel throughout our great province. What Success Looks Like Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job Provide management and direction to asphalt plant foremen and maintenance team A strong knowledge of the Mines Act, Health, Safety & Reclamation Code of B.C. Work closely with the Manager, Equipment & Assets to ensure equipment maintenance standards, schedules, and budgets are being met Knowledge of all types of asphalt plant and crushing equipment Attend and participate in all safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site Drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement; ensuring equipment is safe and in good working order Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions Review and adhere to project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required Recommend ways to improve equipment reliability, production, quality, and crew performance Ensure construction meets approved specifications What You Bring Minimum of five (5) years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the Asphalt, Crushing, Paving, or related discipline A strong background in equipment maintenance and a knowledge of reliability centered maintenance practices Clean Drivers Abstract is required Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently Experience with Heavy Job/E360 Experience with Netsuite is an asset Benefits Looking to be part of a well-established family-owned company?
