Shift: Rotation Department: Stain A Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in managing all aspects of the department including: Key Responsibilities: * Safe work: promoting safety within the department, aiming for a zero-injury culture. * Coach and develop staff: monitor performance to identify training gaps, provide training, maintain, and request updates to CTR’s. * Quality work: training staff on quality standards/expected behaviours and ensuring they are met. * Lead department meetings: involve staff in department matters. * Monitor production activity: take action to optimize sequencing and product flow, ensure buffer holes are filled, and work with the team to achieve production targets. * Continuous improvement: active participation in and coaching employees for continuous improvement. * Innovation: bringing value through new, creative ideas. Key Competencies: * Humble: Prioritizes team success, supports others, and gives credit where it’s due. * Hungry: Self‑motivated, accountable for results, and committed to continuous learning and improvement. * Smart: Approachable, respectful, and effective in working and communicating with others. * Effective communication: communicate clearly, respectfully, active listening. * Able to problem solve and make decisions: working with the Supervisor to identify problems, determine possible causes, identify/evaluate and implement solutions, work to prevent problems. * Able to manage multiple priorities: focus on and respond to competing priorities in a calm and determined manner. * Team builder: build a dynamic team where employees work together and achieve department goals. Education & Experience: * 3-5 years manufacturing experience. * Finishing experience would be an asset. * Leadership experience would be an asset.
