Job Description SUMMARY: The AV Design Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and implementing advanced audio-visual systems. This role involves creating detailed CAD drawings, engineering documentation, and system schematics for presentation to clients, project stakeholders, and construction teams. The AV Design Engineer ensures that all AV solutions meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations. Corporate Structure Reports to: Director of Engineering or Design Manager Collaborates with: Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Field Installation teams May supervise: Junior Engineers, CADD Technicians, and Integration Specialists Work Environment / Hours / Travel Primarily office-based with a mix of on-site project visits as required Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of equipment (up to 50 pounds) Travel required based on project locations and client needs Standard business hours with flexibility for project deadlines and site work Key Responsibilities Design and integrate complex AV systems, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project specifications Produce and review detailed AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, and wiring diagrams for AV, low voltage, and lighting control systems Develop engineering and architectural documentation, calculations, and system schematics Generate and validate take-offs for AV and lighting systems using platforms such as Bluebeam Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, signal flow schematics, and installation guides for field teams Collaborate with engineering and installation teams to update and manage AutoCAD block libraries and system templates Ensure all project documentation is current, reflecting as-built conditions and incorporating field changes Prepare and review cable schedules, equipment lists, and labeling documentation for installation Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of all engineering deliverables and revisions Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff and CADD technicians Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AV integration Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in AV system design, integration, and project engineering Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software (e.g., Revit, Bluebeam) Strong knowledge of AV, low voltage, and lighting control systems Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills Industry certifications (e.g., CTS-D, CTS-I, or equivalent) highly desirable Benefits Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Retirement savings plan Paid time off and holidays Professional development and certification opportunities Flexible work arrangements Employee wellness programs Job Type: Full-time Apply Now and Be a Part of Our Success!
