Position Summary: This role is responsible for testing, characterizing, and validating Delta-Q battery charging and power conversion products from concept through production release. Working closely with Power Electronics, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams, this role independently verifies product performance, identifies technical risks, and provides objective evidence that products meet design, safety, and production readiness requirements. This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone experienced with high-voltage, high-power electronics, structured verification practices, laboratory testing, and root-cause investigation. This position is full time, permanent. Specific Duties: Lead hardware verification and validation for battery charging and power conversion products throughout the product development lifecycle. Develop and execute verification plans, test procedures, and release test strategies to confirm product requirements are met. Perform EVT, DVT, PVT, characterization, and production release testing. Test and characterize AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion systems, battery charging functions, control systems, protection features, and overall product performance. Conduct electrical, thermal, functional, and performance testing across operating conditions. Analyze test data to identify design issues, performance limitations, measurement errors, and product risks. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA activities, and technical risk assessments. Support product safety, EMC, environmental, and regulatory compliance testing. Design, build, maintain, and improve test setups and laboratory equipment. Safely test energized power electronic systems, including open-frame products operating up to 1,000 VDC and 22 kW. Lead or support root-cause investigations with engineering teams to resolve hardware, firmware, control, and system integration issues. Prepare technical reports, test summaries, conclusions, and recommendations for engineering and management review. Support continuous improvement of verification methods, lab processes, test automation, and engineering best practices. Other duties as required. Education in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in power electronics testing, validation, or product development. Strong knowledge of AC-DC/DC-DC converters, battery charging systems, controls, thermal management, and power electronics. Experience with MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, and GaN devices. Strong troubleshooting skills with analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power circuits. Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, drawings, and technical specifications. Hands-on experience with high-voltage/high-power lab testing and safety practices. Skilled in advanced electrical measurement techniques and identifying measurement artifacts. Hands-on electronics skills, including soldering, debugging, rework, and board-level troubleshooting. Experience with EVs, energy storage, industrial electrification, or battery charging products is preferred. Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, or similar tools is an asset. Strong analytical and communication skills. Consistently exhibit and model Delta Q values (Collaboration, Perseverance, Innovation, Driving Results). Base Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year plus bonus. The compensation offered will be determined by experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
