The Water Treatment Operator oversees monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water treatment infrastructure to ensure safety, compliance, and operational standards. Responsibilities include conducting water quality analyses, managing chemical inventories, and collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to optimize process performance and effluent quality at the Wheeler River Uranium Project - Phoenix Deposit. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Water Treatment Operations: Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring optimal performance. Conduct water sampling, testing, and quality control to meet regulatory and company standards. Perform preventive and basic corrective maintenance on pumps, filters, chemical dosing systems, and control panels. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to environmental permits, safety protocols, and operational regulations. Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance logs, and compliance reports. Handle, dose, and store chemicals safely, maintaining inventory records. Participate in emergency response drills, including mine rescue and first aid training. Site & Equipment Management: Monitor and document fuel, water, and chemical inventories. Perform routine inspections of pipelines, generators, and sewage systems. Assist trades personnel and contractors with repairs and installations. Conduct other site maintenance and operations tasks as needed. Requirements With an uncompromising commitment to safety, the Water Treatment Operator brings hands-on experience in operating and maintaining water treatment systems in industrial settings. The Water Treatment Operator ensures efficient water quality management while adhering to environmental regulations and operational standards. Additional qualifications and attributes include: Qualified to serve as the Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) for remote, modular Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. Valid Class 3 Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate required. Valid Class 4 Water Treatment Operator Certificate required Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in water treatment systems, preferably in a remote setting. Familiarity and experience operating a wastewater treatment plant based on Membrane Bioreactor Technology is an asset. Solid proficiency with office productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite, accompanied by a willingness to learn and use other technologies and software as required. Proficiency with SAP, Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) and SCADA systems would be an asset. Willingness and ability to train and mentor operators-in-training. Ability to lift, climb, and perform maintenance tasks as required Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and effectively Strong interpersonal skills that promote safe, collaborative, and inclusive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and contractors Demonstrated ability to think critically to effectively evaluate and resolve complex problems Exhibits an uncompromising commitment to always working safely, and reporting and resolving hazards or unsafe conditions immediately Possession of a Drivers' License that is valid and in good standing is required Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and assigned.
