JOB TITLE: Employment Specialist | #2214 SERVICE AREA: Vocational & Day Services LOCATION: Vancouver, BC START DATE: July 27, 2026 (Ending April 30, 2027) TERM/STATUS: Temporary Full Time SCHEDULE/HRS: Flex Time // 37.5 hours per week (flexible hours) HOURLY WAGE: $31.77 - $35.29 as per the collective agreement (2024 rates, implementation of new collective agreement is in process, and new wage rates $33.70 to $37.44 will be implemented once funding is received) THE ROLE: The Employment Specialist provides pre-employment counselling, job coaching, education, and advocacy support to adults with a disability. The Employment Specialist also provides transitional support, marketing to employers, and education and support to community organizations. REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience: Degree or Diploma in an area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities, such as Social Services, Human Services, or Education or a combination of relevant experience and education. 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a vocational setting. Experience in adaptive communication techniques information technology. Previous experience working with adults with barriers to employment. Demonstrated ability to successfully implement instructional and other support programs for adults. The Employment Specialist provides pre-employment counseling, job coaching, education, and advocacy support to adults with disabilities. They also offer transitional support and educate community organizations about the importance of a diverse workforce.

Candidates should have a degree or diploma related to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and 1-2 years of relevant experience. Additional requirements include a Criminal Record Check, a Class 5 Driver's License, and First Aid/CPR certification.
