Job Title: Casual Early Childhood Educator Assistant | #2199 Location: Vancouver / Richmond Start Date: As soon as possible Term/Status: Casual Hourly Wage: $24.54 - $27.19 + 10.6% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates, ratification of new collective agreement in process) *DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP collective agreement rates; WE funding is not paid above the ECE wage. The Role: The Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) provides an enriched program for children which meet the needs of the families in the community. The ECEA also provides opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact on a daily basis. The ECEA works in conjunction with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met. What We Offer: * On-the-job Training * Educational and training opportunities * Professional development * Community involvement * An inclusive work environment Requirements/Education/Experience: * Completion of BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certification, or currently enrolled in ECE Program, and have ECEA certificate in the interim (2 days minimum availability is required) * Special Needs and/or Under 3 Certification is an asset but not required * Criminal Record Clearance * Medical Clearance * Valid First Aid/CPR * Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (training provided, if needed) * Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication * Basic computer literacy * Eligible to work in Canada *This position requires union membership. The ECEA provides an enriched, inclusive, and play-based program for children with both typical and special needs. They work closely with the Manager to ensure the specific needs of children and families in the community are met.

Exigences

Candidates must have a BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certification or be currently enrolled in an ECE program. Required credentials include Criminal Record and Medical Clearance, valid First Aid/CPR, and eligibility to work in Canada.
