Location:Dome Schedule:4x3 The Position The Mobile Maintenance General Foreperson is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of the surface mining mobile fleet. This role provides leadership and direction to maintenance personnel while ensuring equipment availability, maintenance efficiency, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. The incumbent works collaboratively with operations, technical services, supply chain, contractors, and maintenance support teams to achieve safety, production, reliability, and budget objectives. A key component of the role is developing employees through coaching, mentoring, training, performance management, and succession planning. Key Responsibilities Accountable for fostering and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, company standards, and environmental requirements. Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to supervisors and maintenance support personnel. Establish clear performance expectations and conduct performance reviews. Manage employee relations matters in accordance with Company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements. Participate in Employee Improvement Action Plans, investigations, and grievance procedures as required. Lead the development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety performance within the Mobile Maintenance Department. Champion the use of Safety Management Systems, incident reporting processes, hazard identification programs, and safety innovation initiatives Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout all maintenance facilities and work areas. Conduct workplace inspections and participate in monthly health and safety meetings. Maximize equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance of the mobile fleet. Support the development and execution of maintenance strategies aligned with operational objectives. Partner with Operations General Forepersons and other site departments to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives Skills And Qualifications Education and Certifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology; or Certified Journeyperson Trade Qualification. Industry Experience Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience within open pit mining, underground mining, or heavy mobile equipment maintenance environments. Extensive knowledge of fleet maintenance and reliability management practices. Leadership Experience Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a maintenance organization.
