Détails du poste

Senior Tax Manager | $150,000–$190,000 | Markham (Hybrid) This is a senior tax and Private Enterprise role, combining T1 and T2 review with oversight of compilation and review engagements for owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth clients. You’ll join a well-established CPA firm in Markham and work closely with the Partners across a broad portfolio of privately held businesses, entrepreneurs and family groups. The role goes beyond reviewing returns. You’ll take ownership of client relationships, oversee files and staff, identify planning opportunities and become increasingly involved in the growth of the practice. For someone looking beyond Senior Manager level, there is genuine scope to progress toward Director and ultimately Partner. Why this role stands out: • $150,000–$190,000 salary • Hybrid working • Markham location • Broad owner-managed and HNW client base • Corporate and personal tax review • Tax planning and advisory exposure • Direct Partner involvement • Significant client ownership • Opportunity to mentor and develop staff • Involvement in recruitment and internal training • Business development and referral-source exposure • Longer-term Director / Partner progression • U.S. and cross-border exposure available What you’ll be doing: • Review T2 corporate tax returns and related schedules • Review T1 returns for owner-managers, HNW individuals and family groups • Identify tax and broader planning opportunities for clients • Oversee compilation and review engagements • Review financial statements and working papers prepared by staff • Manage workflow and deadlines across a portfolio of Private Enterprise clients • Deal directly with business owners and senior client contacts • Lead client meetings and assist with onboarding new engagements • Resolve more complex accounting and tax matters • Mentor junior, intermediate and senior staff • Support recruitment, training and practice development • Build relationships with referral sources and participate in networking • Work closely with the Partners on more complex client matters What they’re looking for: • Canadian CPA designation • 10+ years of progressive Canadian public accounting experience • Strong Private Enterprise / owner-managed business experience • Strong corporate and personal tax knowledge • Experience reviewing T2 and T1 returns • Significant compilation and review engagement experience • At least 5 years of experience reviewing compilation files and financial statements • Experience supervising and developing accounting staff • Strong client-facing skills • Comfortable operating as a senior point of contact beneath the Partners • TaxCycle, CaseWare, Sage, QuickBooks or similar software experience • U.S. tax or cross-border experience would be a significant asset • U.S. CPA designation would also be advantageous but is not required The firm is looking for someone who will be a visible senior member of the team, with office attendance generally expected around 3–5 days per week depending on workload and business needs.
