Détails du poste
Senior Tax Manager | $140,000–$180,000 | Toronto (Hybrid) Some tax roles are built around getting returns out the door. This one is broader than that. I’m working with an established mid-sized CPA firm in Toronto that is interested in speaking with experienced Tax Managers and Senior Tax Managers who want more involvement in complex client work, planning and advisory. The firm works with privately held businesses, owner-managed companies, investors and high-net-worth individuals, with tax work sitting alongside accounting, assurance and broader business advisory. Why consider it: • $140,000–$180,000 depending on experience • Hybrid working • Toronto location • Established mid-sized CPA firm • Broad corporate and personal tax exposure • Complex planning and advisory work • Direct Partner and client involvement • Opportunity to lead and develop staff • Exposure beyond pure compliance • Longer-term progression for the right person What you’ll be doing: • Manage complex corporate tax compliance engagements • Review T2, T1, T3 and partnership returns • Advise privately held and owner-managed businesses • Support corporate reorganizations and restructuring • Assist with succession and estate planning • Work on remuneration and tax planning opportunities • Manage CRA matters and more complex tax issues • Review staff work and provide technical guidance • Manage senior client relationships • Work closely with Partners on planning and advisory engagements What they’re looking for: • CPA designation • Strong Canadian public accounting tax experience • Manager or Senior Manager-level experience • Corporate tax compliance and planning experience • Experience with privately held or owner-managed businesses • Exposure to reorganizations, succession, estates or complex tax planning would be beneficial • Strong client management skills • Experience reviewing work and developing staff • Someone looking for a longer-term move with room to continue progressing If you’re an experienced tax professional who wants to stay technically involved while taking on more responsibility with clients and the wider practice, this is worth a conversation. If you’d like to know more about this position, just hit the apply button and I’ll be in touch. If you’re only browsing the job boards and haven’t updated your resume yet, that’s not a problem. You can give me a call first. You’ll find my number on LinkedIn by searching for Jamie Egglenton at Distinct North America. Alternatively, send me a connection request or message on LinkedIn and we can take it from there. If you’ve reviewed this advert and are unsure whether to apply because you don’t meet every requirement, we’d still encourage you to apply. We support the CPA firms we partner with in building diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces. Even if this role isn’t the perfect fit, there’s a good chance we’ll have another opportunity that is.
