Permanent Full-Time (Exempt) Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. Responsibilities The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Manager, Human Resources – Wellness, Safety and Disability Management. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Payroll Services, this position is responsible for: Managing a diverse team of Human Resources employees including Generalists, Health and Safety, and Disability Management; Providing consultation and advice to reporting employees on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters (e.g. bargaining, grievance administration, intersection of disability management and labour relations issues); Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation; collective agreements/employment contracts; administrative regulations; external comparators and best practices; and, internal policies and procedures; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with reporting staff, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport; and, Participating in other duties and special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate has: a degree in Human Resources or a related field; experience leading and developing a high performing HR team; expertise in Disability Management and Labour Relations; a record of accomplishments which demonstrates effective leadership, collaborative problem solving and excellent customer service; an appetite for progressive change and continuous learning; strong organizational and time management skills; success in building and maintaining strong working relationships; and exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills. A CPHR designation would be an asset. The successful candidate is required to supply a criminal record check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required.
