Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer based out of our Toronto Office. Reporting to DRA’s Head of Department, you will be responsible for the engineering and electrical project design activities relating to concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC projects. Main functions include (but not limited to): Design Engineering Technical Support Package Management Site Support Commissioning Documentation and handover Responsibilities Engineering Carry out innovative detailed designs as required for specific disciplines following good engineering practices Ensure that the discipline designs are carried out in accordance with client standards and specifications, industry standards and the relevant legislation (quality of design) Provide design interface between disciplines Ensure (certified) design information received from vendors, contractors and consultants is accurate and interfaces with other designs Ensure the effective (peer) review and approval of discipline design Ensure continuous improvement, lessons learnt, value engineering, fit for purpose and latest technologies are implemented Carry the responsibility for the engineering discipline sign off Interface with internal and external design and drafting disciplines Provide discipline inputs for studies and proposals Provide engineering support to the site team Perform commissioning discipline activities Manage the mark-up and back drafting of redline drawings Mentoring of subordinators if applicable Takes ownership for personal development (within industry through registration and within company) Operational Management Provide input into all SHE matters, actively participate and promote a total safety culture. Manage the program (time), cost, quality, risk and scope of assigned procurement packages. Ensure assigned packages are installed / constructed in accordance with the project & vendor specifications Manage, inspect and release the relevant items of procurement, fabrication and construction within area of discipline and responsibility Participate in the Total Safety Culture of DRA and site safety requirements Assist with the commissioning of the assigned packages in accordance with the project & vendor specifications Ensure that reports are structured, accurate, complete and well presented Display proactive communication with project team with respect to discipline interface and problem solving Financial Manage personal and design/drafting budget man-hours Manage budget as allocated per discipline/procurement package Ensure designs produced are in accordance with capital budget and quantities Ensure suitable contract management is applied to managed procurement packages Client Relations Ensures that all interactions with Clients are conducted in professional and respectful manner Ensures that Clients are kept informed and up to date on status of project technical aspects Ensures that DRA remains the Clients engineering service provider of choice Liaises and co-ordinates with the client’s discipline engineers to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications Requirements: 8+ years experience in a similar role within the multi-disciplinary Mining & Minerals Processing EPCM environment Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Employment type: Permanent We value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people. The compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $92,000 annually, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical project design activities across concept, feasibility, and EPC projects. Key duties include providing technical support, managing procurement packages, and overseeing commissioning and site activities.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and over 8 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary Mining and Minerals Processing EPCM environment. Proficiency in detailed design and adherence to industry standards is required.
