Title: Assistant Director of Equipment Operations - 997226 Position Number: 997226 Unit/Department: General Athletics Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience Job Summary: Drake University is seeking an Assistant Director of Equipment Operations. This position will assist in all aspects of the day-to-day duties of the Knapp Center and Fieldhouse Equipment Rooms. The position will assist with the issuing, maintenance, repair and collection of athletic equipment and apparel for all sports. Primary sport responsibilities will be determined. The position will be responsible for abiding by Equipment Room operational processes and procurement policies/procedures, including maintaining accurate records of athletic equipment inventory. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Availability to work nights and weekends for Drake Athletics’ home games and special events. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities. • Working knowledge of athletic administration, game management, and college sports is preferred. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Enthusiasm for contributing to the success of an NCAA Division I athletics program. Job Duties: All of the duties described below require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Missouri Valley Conference, the Pioneer Football League, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and/or the MAC, and Drake University. * 40% - Issue, maintain and collect equipment and apparel - (Essential) * 25% - Responsible for all day to day operations for assigned sports. - (Essential) * 20% - Properly operate, edit, and maintain Equipment Room files including operation of Equipment Room's inventory program for all sports to ensure efficient procurement and use of Athletics department property. - (Essential) * 5% - Launder uniforms and practice gear daily. - (Essential) * 5% - Assist in inventory of all incoming shipments to the equipment room. - (Essential) * 5% - Assist in supervision of student managers. - (Essential) * % - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential) Special Instructions to Applicants: Applicants will be asked to complete the online application through Drake's job board and provide: a resume/cv, a cover, and contact information for three references.
