For more information about the college, visit: https://www.drake.edu/artsci/about Job Summary: Drake University’s College of Arts and Sciences is excited to invite applications for a Communications Support Specialist position to manage and coordinate website and social media for the college while offering administrative support to our departments of English and Anthropology and Sociology, as well as Women and Gender Studies (WGS) program and the Humanities Center (HC). Responsibilities will include maintaining external/internal website and social media accounts for the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as develop, write, and edit content for the A&S newsletter. The position also supports updates to programmatic brochures and recruitment materials. Core duties include administrative support to faculty, class schedule building and classroom reservations, setting up student auditions, student recruitment and admission activities, monitoring of supplies and equipment, managing calendars, event and department facilities, maintaining databases, generating reports, maintaining websites, and other duties as assigned. Day-to-day clerical and public-facing duties will vary. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent previous work experience Preferred Qualifications: Previous work experience in higher education Website design & maintenance Social media and marketing experience Job Duties: * 60% - English and Anthropology & Sociology, WGS, and HC clerical duties and department support, including but not limited to schedule building, student registrations and evaluations, as well as budget. - (Essential) * 40% - Maintaining website and social media accounts. Supporting updates to programmatic brochures and recruitment materials. Developing, writing, and editing content for the A&S newsletter.
