Role Description: The Associate Lawyer will be responsible for managing a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents, and providing legal opinions and advice to clients. Day-to-day work will include client consultations, preparing for and attending court appearances or hearings, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with colleagues and support staff to advance files efficiently. The role also involves maintaining accurate file records, meeting deadlines, and staying current with relevant legislation and case law. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Langley, BC, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in British Columbia, in good standing with the Law Society of BC. Has at least 5 years of experience practicing in the area of family law in British Columbia Demonstrated experience in legal research, drafting legal documents, and case analysis. Strong advocacy skills, including written submissions and oral representation before courts or tribunals. Excellent client service abilities, with clear, professional communication and interpersonal skills. Proven organizational skills, including time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple files. Comfort working in a collaborative team environment while handling responsibilities independently. Proficiency with common legal software, document management systems, and standard office applications. Prior experience in a small or mid-sized firm environment is an asset; related practice area experience is preferred. Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and community engagement.
