POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Travel Centre Manager, the Shift Supervisor oversees and supports the day-to-day operations of the Travel Centre, including inventory ordering, store presentation, customer service, and the supervision of Sales Associates, Gas Attendants, and Stock Clerks. The Shift Supervisor monitors controllable expenses within the assigned budget, determines inventory needs, maintains positive relationships with vendors and customers, oversees the receiving of goods, and maintains accurate inventory while minimizing waste, shortages, and losses. The position is responsible for the daily reconciliation of proceeds from gasoline and convenience store sales and ensuring compliance with established brand policies, procedures, and operational standards. The Shift Supervisor also supports initiatives to increase sales and promote the overall success of the Travel Centre. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: * Provide leadership and operational coverage in the absence of the Travel Centre Manager. * Supervise, coordinate, and support Travel Centre staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. * Develop staff schedules and coordinate daily work assignments to ensure appropriate staffing levels and operational coverage. * Train new employees and coordinate or facilitate training as required. * Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming, professional, and customer-focused environment. * Address and resolve customer concerns and complaints in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner. * Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. * Sell merchandise and provide knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding products and services. * Monitor inventory levels, maintain appropriate stock levels, and place merchandise orders as required. * Conduct regular stock counts and participate in inventory control procedures as required. * Prepare bank deposits and ensure cash-handling procedures are followed accurately and securely. * Prepare and maintain reports related to sales, merchandising, inventory, staffing, and other operational matters. * Monitor daily operations to ensure established policies, procedures, and customer service standards are consistently followed. * Assist the Travel Centre Manager with the overall operation and administration of the Travel Centre. * Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience requirements: * Gas Station Management: 1 year * Inventory Management: 1 year * Customer Service: 3 years * High School Completion or higher * Clean Drivers Record * Fluency in Cree is an asset. * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. * Criminal record and Child Intervention record checks will be required upon interview. Key Competencies: * Strong supervisory, inventory management, and financial tracking skills. * Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills. * Knowledge and understanding of applicable tax exemptions for eligible First Nations customers, including tax-exempt fuel sales. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. * Demonstrates accountability, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. * Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to reporting for scheduled shifts on time.
