Yard Crew Member – Class 1 Full-time | Year-Round | Blackfalds, AB Position Summary This isn’t just about moving materials – it’s about moving them right. You’ll play a key role in keeping our yard safe, organized, and efficient by operating equipment with focus, precision, and care to move and load precast material. What You’ll Do Safety operate equipment (overhead cranes, gantry cranes, shunt trucks, forklifts) Load, unload, and position materials with accuracy and care Assist with rigging and crane signaling Support general yard and loading operations Keep the yard organized, clean, and efficient Complete pre- and post-shift equipment inspections What We Are Looking For Holds the standard – doesn’t cut corners, doesn’t look the other way Clear Communicator – gives and follows direction on signals and loads Respected team player – builds trust, holding a high standard for safety and quality Action oriented - takes ownership, addresses issues, and follows through to completion Sharp and dialed in – pays attention to every load, every move, every detail Requirements Successful interview candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment assessment Valid Class 1 license, with acceptable driver’s abstract Ability to work 44 hours per week, including overtime as required Available Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays Physically able to perform demanding work for extended periods Basic understanding of construction, equipment operating, overhead crane operating, and rigging Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Ability to work at heights, up to 16 feet Ability to follow direction and communicate effectively with the team Comfortable working outdoors in all weather Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) Assets Airbrake endorsement What Eagle Builders Offers Competitive wages based on experience, with regular evaluations 6% vacation pay, health coverage, and wellness support Sundays off and a culture that values time with family Clothing program, meal program, fuel discounts, and employee events Clear training roadmaps and opportunities for growth Join a team built on collaboration, grit, and a commitment to ongoing improvement. Operate heavy equipment including cranes and forklifts to safely load, unload, and position precast materials. Maintain yard organization and efficiency while performing essential equipment inspections and rigging tasks.

Must possess a valid Class 1 license with an acceptable driver's abstract and be physically capable of demanding outdoor work. Requires basic knowledge of construction equipment operation and the ability to work 44 hours per week.
