Designer

Reporting to the Design Lead, the Designer is involved with the completion of all production designs and drawings. Working within the design team, either remote, or onsite at our Trenton facility, your role will be crucial in helping the company deliver successful projects throughout Nova Scotia. RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrated drafting experience with AutoCAD 2D and 3D software in wood construction (this is a necessity to be considered for this position) Ability to work on blueprints and drawing schematics Experience using various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Bluebeam etc. Ability to track and manage various projects and provide detailed progress reports Creating and working on job estimates, experience with ProEst and/or similar software, considered an asset Ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure Interact with suppliers, contractors, and builders to resolve issues on site and or in design Knowledge/experience in several design software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, hsbCAD, SketchUp, Javelin, Dietrich’s, and other structural programs is considered an asset Knowledge/ experience with project management and file management software such as ProCore and Sharepoint is considered an asset Generate wood wall panels, floor panels/ cassettes, roof systems Generate onsite installation guides for builders Knowledge of Passive Design and Green Building Practices considered an asset Maintain a proactive relationship with shop and on-site builders Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience in wood construction Architectural Drafting Course or applicable secondary education required SALARY Salary dependent on experience.
