We are seeking an Area Manager to oversee 8 locations across New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and PEI. In this role, you will lead and empower store teams to maximize results, ensuring we remain Canada’s top destination for gaming, toys, and collectibles. Success in this role requires you to have experience with the following: Recruitment & People Development: Clearly defines and uses various techniques that attract candidates that will grow the team. Hires individuals that embrace and model EB values. Focuses on diversity of the team and the communities we represent. Leverages all tools and leans on partners to get the best candidates on board. Is on the pulse of the team in order to project turn probability to get ahead of vacancies. Training & Succession Strong track record of developing internal talent and history of subordinates moving to next level. Detail driven around training plans and objectives so progress can be measured and articulated. Coaches in both formal and informal capacities, willing to ‘roll up sleeves’ and be hands on when coaching is required. Invests in all members of the team regardless of the associates future plans so a culture of development trickles down throughout the area. Develops relationships through routine 1:1 meetings to create trusting bonds. Uses formal and informal methods to recognize behaviours that align with the desired outcome. Customer Experience/Sales & Operations: Creates a fun environment where people understand their purpose and want to contribute. Quick to follow up on any issues that arise and loops in partners on the front end of situations. Recognizes when associates are not themselves and addresses appropriately (promotes our wellness programs. History with developing teams where the customer experience is valued above all else. Responds to escalated customer concerns with urgency. Develops a culture of empowerment across all stores. Strong track record of delivering results. Ability to self manage sales priorities so their team knows what is most important to the business. Manages labour spend so it falls in line with budget expectations and serves each stores needs based on volume. Understands how to balance company direction and store execution so the most profitable outcome is attained. Good knowledge on shrink prevention and processes. Ability to understand, communicate, and coach visual merchandising standards. Able to follow up in a manner that ensures all stores are operationally compliant and contributing quality work. Challenges the status quo in all areas and respectfully raises concerns with solutions in mind. Seeks out innovation and ideas to improve the business Time management amid changing priorities Communicating effectively in writing, verbal, in person and from a distance Sound business acumen skills and ability to comprehend the P&L and other integral reports. Proficient at MS Office with emphasis on Outlook and Excel. Time and priority management; ability to take on various initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines. UKG/ payroll management. Ability to conduct physical inventories. **Current driver’s license and auto insurance coverage is required; Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time. Financial ability to support expense based travel. ** This position is for an existing vacancy, and we are looking to fill this role immediately.
