About the Role The Procurement and Inventory Specialist plays a key role in ensuring reliable and cost‑effective supply across assigned product categories. This position is responsible for converting approved demand into optimized purchase orders, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and operating within vendor allocation frameworks. The Specialist applies strong category knowledge - such as MOQs, freight considerations, vendor capabilities, and market dynamics - to negotiate competitive pricing and support total landed cost targets. Working closely with Demand Planning, Sales, and Warehouse Operations, the Specialist ensures demand signals, supply realities, and fulfillment timelines remain aligned. By maintaining accurate purchasing data, resolving supplier issues, and following established procurement processes, this role directly supports operational reliability, cost efficiency, and strong vendor performance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field Minimum 1 year of procurement or inventory management experience Basic understanding of supply chain cost drivers and vendor negotiation Experience using purchasing and inventory management systems Excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail Clear and professional communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Supply Chain or Purchasing Certificate (preferred) Experience in distribution, manufacturing, electrical, or industrial environments Familiarity with vendor allocation frameworks and rebate programs Exposure to demand planning or inventory forecasting Responsibilities: Create accurate, optimized purchase orders for approved demand Monitor inventory to avoid shortages and overstock Maintain up‑to‑date PO data (pricing, lead times, confirmations) Batch and time orders to support freight and cost efficiency Resolve supplier delivery or quality issues Provide feedback to Demand Planning when forecasts differ from market trends Support Sales and Warehouse teams in meeting fulfillment requirements Maintain strong supplier relationships and support rebate strategies Identify cost‑saving or process improvement opportunities Escalate vendor constraints impacting approved demand Skills: The key skills for this role ensure accurate, consistent, and reliable procurement execution. Strong analytical skills support effective interpretation of demand signals, supplier data, and pricing. Attention to detail and disciplined process execution ensure clean purchase order management and inventory accuracy. Organizational skills enable the coordination of multiple orders, timelines, and follow‑ups. Professional communication supports collaboration with internal teams and vendors. Experience using purchasing and inventory management systems for efficient data handling and decision-making. Together, these competencies enable the Specialist to maintain supply reliability, protect cost and service targets, and support strong operational performance.
