Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the SLPA supports the development of children's speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills through the implementation of individualized and inclusive activities that promote positive developmental outcomes. Schedule * Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (full-time, office hours) * Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, with adjusted scheduling * Local travel required between office locations, family residences, and schools Key Responsibilities * Deliver speech and language interventions under the direction and supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). * Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, families, and caregivers to support children's communication and developmental goals. * Implement a variety of intervention approaches, including individual, small-group, and classroom-based programming. * Promote communication, language, and social development through play-based and inclusive learning experiences. * Participate in home visits, parent engagement activities, team meetings, and case conferences as required. * Prepare, organize, and maintain therapy materials, documentation, and participant records in accordance with confidentiality standards. * Provide administrative support to the SLP and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment. Qualifications Education * Diploma in Speech and Language Pathology Assistant Certification * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle * Proof of vehicle insurance, registration and 3-year drivers abstract. * Standard First Aid and CPR Experience * Experience working with preschool-aged children in educational, therapeutic, or community-based settings. * Experience supporting children and families from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. * Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment is considered an asset.
