Job Description Project Coordinator – Building Services is an entry-level to junior professional role supporting building restoration, building envelope, and building services projects in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Working alongside Project Managers and technical specialists, the position contributes to project delivery through field reviews, site investigations, technical documentation, construction coordination, and project administration activities. The role supports projects involving building condition assessments, restoration planning, capital repair programs, tendering, and construction-phase services across a range of asset types. Responsibilities span investigation, documentation, cost planning, construction review, and project controls within a multidisciplinary project environment. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent educational exposure, in building science, construction management, engineering, architectural science, or a related discipline, with an interest in developing technical knowledge of building systems, asset performance, and construction processes. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers with project coordination, technical reporting, and project delivery activities across building services assignments. Participate in field investigations and site reviews for new construction projects involving building envelope systems and related components. Assist with building condition assessments, documentation of deficiencies, and preparation of assessment findings. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Support cost estimation activities, including preliminary costing, capital planning, and repair or replacement budgeting. Assist with restoration projects through investigation, tendering support, and construction administration activities. Participate in construction review activities, including RFI management, shop drawing review support, and meeting minute preparation. Support project controls by tracking budgets, billings, project costs, schedules, and action items. Coordinate project information with Project Managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to support project execution. Maintain project documentation, records, schedules, correspondence, and project files. Assist with proposal development and business development documentation. Perform additional project coordination and technical support duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architectural Science, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related discipline. 1–2 years of experience in construction management, building assessment, field reviews, or a related discipline; recent graduates will also be considered. Understanding of building systems, building technology, and construction practices. Experience or academic exposure involving building condition assessments, site investigations, construction reviews, or technical reporting. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and project tasks. High attention to detail and demonstrated willingness to develop technical competencies. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary project team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel to project sites. Assets Exposure to building restoration projects. Experience supporting tendering and construction administration activities. Familiarity with capital planning and repair/replacement programs. Experience coordinating project financial tracking, budgets, or billings. Exposure to proposal preparation and business development support activities. Experience working with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
