Overview Element is looking for a Testing Technician to conduct various fire performance tests, including the analysis of test results to well defined standards and/or standard operating procedures. This position involves sample preparation, physical testing, scheduling, equipment setup, maintenance / calibration, client interaction, and report writing. Salary: $26- $30/hr DOE Responsibilities • Safely test materials associated with recognized flammability property standards, sample preparation, data collection & analysis, and report preparation.• Involvement in test material unpacking / inspection, logging/labeling, and pre-conditioning (if required).• Participate in client correspondence and project coordination.• Purchase equipment & materials and maintain equipment.• Maintain equipment calibrations.• All work is to be conducted as per Element H&S procedures and industry-accepted safety protocols. Skills / Qualifications • Completion of a 2-year college program in engineering or technology and/or 1-year of experience in an engineering environment.• Ability to adapt and to work both independently and as part of a team.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to multitask.• Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion.• Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).• Experience with common construction power and hand tools.• Proficient in MS Office Company Overview Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
