Overview Element has an opportunity for a Login Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Calgary. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the Login Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Receive samples and document receipt Inspect samples and sample information sheet, documenting sample integrity. Notify Team Leaders of any potential problems with samples, analysis or client requests. Communicate with client regarding sample integrity and analysis requests and document all communications Enter sample and client information into LIMS, assigning analysis requirements and generating sample labels, Notice of Sample Receipt and Lot Communication Sheets Distribute samples to the correct sample storage location Determine internal/external sublet location and prepare sample for shipping Skills / Qualifications Have a diploma Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking Good Computer Skills Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory Possess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the work day with supervision Understand what must be completed each work day and takes the initiative to complete those tasks properly and timely - does not need Senior/Principal Technician or management to explain what the task is. Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required Able to develop a proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests according to customer specifications under the supervision and technical input of Senior/Principal #LI-T Physical Demands: Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).
