EllisDon Facilities Services (EDFS) is a division of EllisDon, responsible for the operations and life-cycle maintenance of infrastructure assets; including hospitals, government buildings and transit. Within these facilities, EDFS manages several collective agreement obligations, including with CUPE, UNIFOR, SEIU, IBEW, and Teamsters. In this role, you will report directly to EllisDon’s Vice President, Labour Relations & Legal Counsel while working as an integrated advisor to EDFS in support of its business. You as a Labour Relations Director - Facilities Services will: Lead collective bargaining negotiations within the unionized environments EDFS operates Handle grievance & dispute resolution across EDFS sites Represent EllisDon at arbitrations Investigate union complaints to determine viability, and complete if required in timely manner Build & maintain strong relationships with unions partners & site teams, Advise the business on union labour matters Work closely with internal & external legal counsel on any relevant matters Provide strategic labour relations advice for new projects & pursuits Assist with day-to-day contract administration Provide risk analysis and coach & support leaders/teams with decisions pertaining to Labour Relations. Is this the right role for you? 5+ years’ labour relations experience supporting in a unionized working environment Asset if previous history is in Facilities Services and/or Healthcare Exceptional communication, influencing, creative thinking and relationship building skills Expert knowledge of applicable laws & legislation and a capability to stay up-to-date with any updates to said laws & legislation Proven history providing guidance & coaching to leaders on LR matters University degree, preferably in Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration or a similar relevant field Travel to different EDFS sites across the GTA required The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $175,000. Candidates must have at least 5 years of labour relations experience in a unionized environment and possess a university degree in a relevant field. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills are required, along with expert knowledge of labour laws and legislation.
