Text Size Back to Job Board General Maintenance Worker Timmins, ON General Labour POSTED: 20 hours ago Employer Northern College ES Job ID 8161 Closing Date September 15, 2026 Salary $ 30.43 to $ 35.11 (Payband E) Duration Full Time Job Description Classification: Support Staff Stage: Internal/External Starting Salary: $30.43 Start Date: Oct. 26/26 to May 24/27 Hours of Work: 40 hrs/wk Status: Full Time – Leave Replacement (Appendix D) What You Will Be Doing Perform general groundskeeping duties such as snow removal and lawn mowing Operate all types of plant equipment, including tractors, walk-behind equipment, and vehicles Maintain and repair damaged or deteriorated interior and exterior building finishes through demand work orders or planned preventative maintenance, such as floor and ceiling repairs, drywall repairs, and minor window and door repairs, including caulking Perform minor plumbing maintenance Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, refrigeration equipment, and small appliances Pick up and deliver materials and supplies and move equipment and furniture Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, standpipe systems, fire hydrants, emergency telephones, first aid kits, and eyewash stations A detailed job description is available from the Human Resource Services department. Required Skills One (1) year certificate in a relevant/related field Minimum two (2) years of experience in large building maintenance, mobile equipment, small engine repairs, air compressors, and hydraulics, with the ability to operate grounds equipment (e.g., riding lawnmower, tractor, snowblower) and small hand tools Valid Class G driver's licence WHMIS and First Aid/CPR/AED The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team and independently, and must have carpentry, plumbing, and welding skills, as well as troubleshooting skills.
