Municipal Design Engineer

Your main responsibilities Lead the detailed design of municipal infrastructure projects, more specifically sanitary lift stations, wastewater treatment facility (WWTF), potable water booster stations, and potable water treatment plants (WTP); Prepare and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents in accordance with municipal, provincial, and federal standards and other technical guidelines; Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, environmental, structural) to deliver integrated design solutions; Support permitting and approvals processes with municipalities and regulatory agencies; Provide technical input during procurement, including tendering and bid evaluations; Perform periodic construction site visits and provide design support during construction (RFI responses, design clarifications, change reviews); Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and Englobe’s quality management systems; Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting project delivery and business development efforts; Mentor junior engineers and technologists and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. What makes you unique Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and registered (or eligible for registration) as a P.Eng. with the applicable provincial association; 5–10+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design, ideally within a consulting environment; Strong knowledge of municipal servicing systems, including water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management; Proficiency with design and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, Bentley hydraulic modelling software (WaterCAD/SewerGEMS) and spreadsheet analysis; Experirence with Plant 3D would be considered an asset; Solid understanding of municipal design standards, approval processes, and construction practices; Experience preparing contract documents and supporting tendering processes; Effective communicator with strong report writing and client-facing skills; Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment; Committed to health and safety, with the ability to promote Englobe’s HSE culture and procedures. Lead the detailed design of municipal infrastructure projects including wastewater and water treatment facilities. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting business development.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and P.Eng. registration or eligibility. Candidates must have 5-10+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and proficiency with relevant modelling software.
