Guidewire Architect Markham , ON Contract Video Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Architect to lead the technical vision, end-to-end design, and execution of large-scale Guidewire InsuranceSuite transformations. In this role, you will shape target architectures, guide cross-functional engineering teams, and oversee complex cloud migrations and integrations across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Solution Design: Define technical blueprints, architecture roadmaps, and target state designs for Guidewire InsuranceSuite across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid deployments. Integrations & Data Flows: Architect scalable, event-driven integration patterns using RESTful APIs, web services, Cloud APIs, and middleware to connect Guidewire with external enterprise systems (CRMs, payment gateways, document management, and data warehouses). Technical Leadership & Governance: Provide technical governance and conduct code/design reviews. Establish coding standards, review custom GSU/PCF configurations, and enforce Guidewire Cloud/SaaS best practices. Non-Functional Standards: Ensure technical solutions meet critical non-functional requirements including performance optimization, high availability, security, scalability, and disaster recovery. Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and C-level stakeholders to translate business strategy into technical delivery. Required Qualifications & Experience Industry Experience: 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years dedicated to a Guidewire Architect or Lead Integration/Configuration role in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. Guidewire Expertise: Deep hands-on experience in at least one primary module (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter) and familiarity with Jutro, Edge Services, or Cloud APIs. Cloud & Modernization: Proven experience leading Guidewire Cloud (GWCP) implementations, SaaS upgrades, or cloud migrations. Technical Stack: Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (Java, Gosu) and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle). Integration frameworks: RESTful APIs, SOAP, JMS, Apache Camel, and Kafka. CI/CD & Testing: Jenkins, Git, GUnit, and automated code scan plugins. Certifications: Guidewire Certified Associate or Ace Certification in Configuration/Integration is highly preferred.

Requires over 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years as a Guidewire Architect in P&C Insurance. Proficiency in Java, Gosu, and cloud implementation experience is essential, with Guidewire certifications highly preferred.
