Working with the Estimating team, you will be responsible for job-specific budgeting, as well as model and option database maintenance and development. The Responsibilities * Prepare material take-offs and assist in creating model budgets. * Prepare job release files and issue purchase orders in a timely manner. * Review trade quotes for accuracy. * Review purchase order variance against budget and provide explanation and review with Management for corrective action. * Process variance purchase orders as required. * Ensure all job file documentation is distributed to the trade partners in a timely manner. * Assist in the maintenance of the database by updating costs and identifying areas of improvement. Now Let’s Talk About You * Understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess their completeness * Strong, clear, and precise, written, and verbal communication skills * Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures * A motivated self-starter with meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills * Service oriented, with the ability to work well within a high-performance team environment Our ‘Must Haves’ * Completion of post-secondary education with a degree or diploma related to Estimating * Effective communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships Bonus Points * 1 + years of field or related experience in residential construction Why Join Excel Homes Team?
