Guided by our mission to develop trusted long-term partnerships and create product solutions supporting the energy, transportation, and infrastructure markets, we are embarking on the search for an experienced territory sales representative, with knowledge of the fluid power and / or hose, fitting and valve industries to represent us in the Edmonton and surrounding area. The Opportunity: Reporting to the Western Regional Sales Manager: Based out of Edmonton, the successful applicant will make sales calls in person (and virtually using suitable technology) with both potential and existing customers in their assigned territory. The employee is responsible for developing a rapport with the customers as well as an understanding of their business and product needs allowing them to optimize sales and product penetration. The employee is to monitor the sales industry to identify changes in customer demand and preference. Job Responsibilities : Generate sales from new and existing customers by utilizing the tools and information available, maximizing sales for your territory Develop a territory sales plan that will achieve yearly sales goals, regularly monitoring and reviewing actual vs projected results, adjusting your strategy as needed to meet and exceed targets Continue to expand knowledge of Fairview products and processes in order to respond to customer questions and satisfy customer needs Collect and record required information about customers, industries, markets and competition using company provided software systems to your Regional Sales Manager in a timely manner. Continuously upgrade your knowledge of industry, current customers and prospects to maximize sales and product growth in your territory Work co-operatively with National Accounts, attend industry and customer trade shows and support regional branches as required. Communicate regularly with Inside Sales team/Admin Staff and advise of any changes for customer profiles to be updated Monitor, evaluate and make recommendations with respect to all sales opportunities (loss, success), update customer profiles Qualifications: Post Secondary Education and/or experience with background in marketing, and/or communications plus 3 years sales experience or greater in related products/industry. Good Product/Market knowledge Experience preferred in the fluid power and/or hose, fitting, valves industries Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel Effective communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Must be detailed oriented and well organized Good Analytical skills Willing to work independently, a self-starter Computer literate in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Word) Sales oriented and team focused.
