Automotive Service Technician - Mechanic

Our used car dealership is in need of an experienced, thorough Mechanic for our service and parts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing myriad mechanical issues on customers’ cars, including AC and electrical problems. We’re looking for a well-trained and highly organized professional who takes pride in his or her work and can perform various customer service duties as required throughout the day. As we are growing, we employ between four and eight Auto Mechanics at any given time, so we need a professional with a flexible schedule and a willingness to work overtime when needed. Primary responsibilities Take a detailed history of vehicle performance or mechanical failure Diagnose vehicles based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the customer Provide estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain signature approval prior to commencing work Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist File appropriate documentation on each repair Desirable skills High school diploma 1+ years of automotive repair experience Valid driver’s license Excellent communication skills Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct all repairs Ability to operate diagnostic tools requir Salary: Salary based position Tags: Auto Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Auto Mechanic, Auto Mechanic (Part-Time), Automotive Technician

The technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and AC issues on customer vehicles. They must provide repair estimates, perform the necessary work, and conduct test drives to ensure vehicle soundness.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of automotive repair experience. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and excellent communication skills are also required.
