As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing title insurance policies to customers for their commercial real estate transactions. You will review transactional information and documents, discuss problems with customers, underwrite defects and issue policies. Technical knowledge of the practice of real estate law and an understanding of the mechanics of a real estate transaction is crucial. HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE: Receive title insurance orders by phone, portal, online and email Review underlying documentation including title reports, searches, surveys and other related documents Underwrite and prepare title insurance policies Respond to customer inquiries with respect to policy coverage, underwriting, rates and procedures Provide superior customer service and maintain strong customer relationships HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 5 years' experience as a real estate law clerk in a law firm working on real estate files from open to close Professional and customer service focused, with excellent communication skills Strong analytical skills, ability to pay attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently as well as with a team Proficiency in Microsoft office Law Clerk designation preferred Title insurance experience an asset Total Direct Compensation: 67,050 - 81,950 Any pay range is in $CAD.
