Yard Hand & Equipment Operator

JOB TITLE Yard Hand & Equipment Operator Job Summary The Shop and Yard Hand manages the flow of products in and out of the warehouse, shop, and yard. They meet company productivity, quality, and safety expectations while ensuring deadlines and procedures are maintained. Duties And Responsibilities Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment required to move, stack, or store product Delivery with pick-up trucks and the use of a flat-deck trailer Receiving incoming shipments and verifying the contents against the purchase orders or packing slips Preparing and packaging orders; Labeling and tracking packages, products, or equipment, using inventory management systems Inspecting and reporting any damage or discrepancies in shipments, and working with vendors or carriers to resolve issues Maintaining organization and accurate inventory levels, shipping/receiving activities, and other data related to the movement of goods Ensure parts and equipment are picked in a timely manner for all internal and external orders Vehicle management and maintenance Creating shipping crates Performing snow removal, spreading ice melt, and cutting the grass Ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures Cleaning service truck bodies Assist with equipment testing, ensuring proper paperwork is completed Maintain good housekeeping standards in shared spaces, work bays and yards to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Retrieving and delivering parts and consumables from the warehouse at designated times for all departments Garbage picking and disposal Ensure all consumables are filled in all bays Follow all established processes and procedures; follow safe work procedures Other duties as requested Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of warehouse/yard related experience Current Forklift certification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience Clean driver’s abstract (Require 3-year abstract upon hire) Crane and rigging certification not required but would be an asset Competencies & Skills Strong attention to detail Organization skills Excellent communication Bondable Safety orientated Excellent forklift and equipment operation skills WORKING CONDITIONS Fast fast-paced environment, must work under pressure with minimum supervision Multi-temperature environment Physically demanding

Manages the flow of products in and out of the warehouse, shop, and yard using forklifts and other equipment. Responsible for receiving shipments, preparing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Requires a minimum of 5 years of warehouse or yard experience and a current forklift certification. A clean driver's abstract is mandatory, and crane or rigging certifications are considered an asset.
