Location: Base options of Calgary, Edmonton or Red Deer Shift: 7x7 continuous shift Logistics: Tooled truck supplied Travel: Per Diem & accommodations provided • Wage $56.73-$63.03 (wage + RWA) • $2.25 Field Premium, $3.50 Shift Premium • Shift: 7x7 Continuous shift • Paid Time Off in Year 1: Vacation, Sick & Flex Time • Pension; with 5% Employee min. contribution, 1.25% Finning match • Employee Share Purchase; 6% voluntary, 2% Finning match • Employer paid medical benefits • CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: As a Gas Compression Tech, you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines—both in the shop and out in the field—leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on. Your work will include: Field diagnosis and running repairs Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds Component replacements Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication Qualifications Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted) Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors 2 years experience operating a service truck Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses Team player will have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills Important Details This position is based out of Calgary, Edmonton or Red Deer on a 7x7 shift Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Exigences
