Junior Estimator

Junior Estimator Location: Edmonton, AB Company: Firma Concrete About the Role Firma Concrete is looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating and project management. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers, learning every aspect of the estimating process while contributing to a wide variety of commercial, civil, and concrete construction projects. No estimating experience is required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Review construction drawings and specifications. Perform quantity takeoffs. Request and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing. Assist in preparing estimates and project bids. Maintain estimating databases and project documentation. Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and suppliers. Help prepare budgets, cost reports, and bid packages. Attend site visits as required. Support the estimating and operations teams with administrative tasks. Qualifications Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read construction drawings is an asset. Construction experience is an asset but not required. Civil, concrete, or commercial construction knowledge is considered an asset. Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required. The Junior Estimator will perform quantity takeoffs, review construction drawings, and assist in preparing project bids and budgets. They will also coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers to maintain estimating databases and documentation.

Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong organizational and communication skills. A post-secondary degree in construction or civil engineering technology is preferred, along with a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
