Work setting Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio Responsibilities Tasks Book appointments Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences Shampoo customers' hair Shave and trim beards and mustaches Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences Perform receptionist duties Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Hairstylist Licence Experience and specialization Hair styling techniques Blow drying Iron waving/curling Permanents Roller setting Hair colouring techniques Bleach Dyes/tints Frosting Streaking/highlights Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Health care plan Vision care benefits Financial benefits Commission Gratuities Group insurance benefits Life insurance Other Benefits Other benefits
