The Opportunity We’re currently seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to support our operations in Sudbury, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, prioritize repairs, and maintain clear communication with operations to minimize downtime. Your Day-to-Day Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit Discuss work with supervisor Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Inspect motor in operation Review work orders Road test motor vehicles Test automotive systems and components Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems Repair or replace mechanical units or components Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs Perform scheduled maintenance service Test and adjust units to specifications Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements Complete reports to record problems and work performed Coach and instruct apprentices Provide customer service You Are a Good Fit If You Have Required Minimum five (5) years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and/or heavy commercial vehicles Valid G class Driver’s License Strong commitment to safety and teamworw Considered An Asset Heavy Equipment Red Seal Certification DZ Drivers’ License Skills & Abilities Successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a criminal background check (CPIC) and any other requirements imposed on contractors) Knowledge and ability to repair and service a variety of heavy equipment Knowledge of vehicle reports and CVOR. Ability to handle multiple on the go tasks and appropriately prioritize based on operational needs Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Professional attitude and strong work ethic What We Offer Compensation & Benefits Pay: $38.56 / hour Extended health, dental, and life insurance Company Pension Plan Employee & Family Assistance Program Company events Ongoing training and career development This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions.
