About the Role: The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation and delivery of customer orders within the Maritime provinces. This position requires meticulous adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to maintain compliance and safety standards. The driver is responsible for accurate handling of delivery paperwork, ensuring all documentation is complete and precise to facilitate smooth logistics operations, for providing good customer service in the delivery process, supporting good customer relations and retention, and to complete the delivery process using a two-wheel cart, pallet jack, etc. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to customer satisfaction by delivering products reliably and maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout the delivery process. Minimum Qualifications: * Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated in Canada. * Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with Canadian DOT regulations and transportation safety standards. * Proven experience in truck driving with a clean driving record. * Ability to accurately complete delivery and transportation paperwork. * Physical capability to perform tasks such as climbing into truck cabs, carrying wheeled items, and maneuvering in varied terrain. Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs). * Previous experience in the transportation and warehousing industry within Canada. * Additional safety certifications related to cargo handling and vehicle operation. Responsibilities: * Operate delivery trucks safely and efficiently while adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies. * Accurately complete and manage all required delivery paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading, and inspection reports. * Plan and follow assigned routes to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers across various locations. * Load and unload cargo, including carrying wheeled items and climbing into and out of the truck cab as necessary. * Maintain awareness of surroundings using peripheral vision and body movement to navigate inclines, steps, and other physical challenges safely. Skills: The required skills are essential for daily operations, as the driver must consistently apply knowledge of DOT regulations to ensure compliance and safety. Accuracy in paperwork is critical to maintain proper records and support logistical coordination. Route transportation skills enable the driver to efficiently navigate delivery schedules and optimize travel paths. Physical skills such as climbing into the truck cab, turning the body, and carrying wheeled items are necessary to manage the physical demands of loading and unloading cargo. Peripheral vision and situational awareness help the driver to monitor surroundings and respond promptly to road and environmental conditions, ensuring safe and effective delivery performance.
