This is a Hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two (2) days/week working from the office. Job Description Purpose of the role As a new graduate in an actuarial role with Foresters Financial in the Toronto area, you will be enrolled in our Actuarial Development Program to gain exposure across a wide range of actuarial disciplines while making an impact for our members and communities in which we serve. Actuarial Development Program members at Foresters Financial have the opportunity to rotate every 2-3 years through a variety of roles that provide exposure to key actuarial disciplines such as business planning, capital management, financial modeling, pricing, management reporting, risk, valuation and insurance product analysis for both Canada and the U.S. Members of the program are given support and opportunities to develop their technical expertise, and continue to enhance their leadership and communications skills to succeed as a leader in their field. Foresters Financial takes professional and personal development seriously and provides an environment that supports actuarial students to achieve Actuarial Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Actuarial Students enrolled in the program can expect challenging roles with increasing levels of responsibility and compensation in conjunction with their work performance and successful progress through actuarial exams. Key responsibilities/accountabilities You will gain experience working with comprehensive financial modelling systems that utilize a variety of actuarial, spreadsheet, database, and reporting software. Work closely with other teams such as Corporate Actuarial, Business Planning, Capital Management, Pricing, Risk, Investments, Finance and IT, allowing you to gain valuable work exposure across functions. Apply your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to gain data insights and overcome obstacles Key qualifications/competencies Completion of a university degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance or a related discipline. Currently writing Society of Actuaries exams with the intention of achieving the FSA & FCIA designations. Strong working knowledge of Excel is required; experience with AXIS, Hyperion, PowerBI and Microstrategy is an asset Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and technical skills. Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team. #LI-Hybrid Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $77,000.00 The actual base salary for this position will depend on several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in a discretionary variable incentive plan, results are subject to both individual and company performance.
