General Description: The Vineyard Manager is responsible for the overall management, development, and day-to-day operations of Fox Harb’r’s vineyard. This position oversees vineyard health, crop production, seasonal maintenance, staff, equipment, and vineyard-related projects while ensuring the property is maintained to a high standard consistent with the resort’s luxury environment. The Vineyard Manager will develop and implement vineyard management practices that support the long-term health and productivity of the vines, including pruning, planting, fertilization, pest and disease management, irrigation, canopy management, harvesting, and general vineyard maintenance. The position is responsible for planning seasonal work, supervising vineyard team members and contractors, maintaining equipment and supplies, monitoring vineyard conditions, managing budgets, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the standards expected at Fox Harb’r. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and leadership skills, an understanding of horticulture or viticulture, and a passion for developing and maintaining a high-quality vineyard. They will be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and have the ability to balance hands-on vineyard work with planning, administration, and team leadership. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Courses in Viticulture or hands on experience working in a Vineyard operation. Nova Scotia pesticide applicators license – Agriculture certificate Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner. Ability to work independently and efficiently, self motivated Confidence in directing a team of 4 employees in all aspects of Vineyard work Ability to perform physical tasks - walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time. Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions Responsibilities Planting, cultivating, early spring pruning, tying, canopy management and harvesting crops. Repairing and maintaining trellis system for grape vines Conduct inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment/ report problems Organizing and supervising employees daily Keep records of work activities, product applications, material usage as requested Apply pesticides when required for control of weeds, diseases and insects in Vineyard Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required Comply with all company policies and regulations. Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations. Perform other duties as directed by manager.
