Temporary Workplace Signer (TWS)

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking people with experience in traffic control to join our team as Temporary Workplace Signers (TWS). In this exciting role, you would be responsible for overseeing a team of Traffic Control Person(s) (TCPs) and working with a foreman/superintendent to establish a safe workplace for construction job sites around Halifax/Dartmouth and surrounding HRM areas. We offer: Competitive wages starting at $20.00/hour for those with no drivers license or not in a driver role. Wages starting at $21.50/hour for applicants who will also be responsible for operating our company vehicles. Drivers must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License, clean drivers abstract, and no "N" or "R" on your license. Opportunity for advancement within a few months of working with us. Transportation to and from work provided (some exceptions may apply). Respectful and friendly management team that will help you succeed. Most PPE will be supplied by the company. Duties & Responsibilities: Set-up safe work zones using traffic cones, barrels and barricades. Plan detailed traffic control solutions based on customer needs and safe work practices. Responsible for the safe passage of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through work areas. Monitor the safe work zones and correct compliance and personnel issues as they arise. Communicate any incidents or hazards to the Site Supervisor. Complete required administration and safety paperwork. Ensure a safe work environment in accordance with all policies and procedures. Follow instructions given by Site Foreman, Site Supervisor, and Management. Requirements: Reliable and punctual. Must be able to interpret both written and verbal instructions. Great communication skills and willing to work in a diverse team environment. Must be able to show leadership and good decision-making abilities. Able to work outside in all weather conditions, often working long days. Comfortable working near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment. Required ability to lift up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods of time. Valid TCP Certification. Valid TWS Certification. Valid Class 5 License an asset. The Temporary Workplace Signer is responsible for overseeing traffic control personnel and establishing safe work zones at construction sites. They must monitor compliance, manage traffic flow for vehicles and pedestrians, and complete necessary safety documentation.

Candidates must hold valid TCP and TWS certifications and possess strong communication and leadership skills. The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs is required.
