Quality Engineer Location: Montreal, Quebec ABOUT FTAI AVIATION LTD. (NASDAQ: FTAI) FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on CFM56 and V2500 engines. JOB OVERVIEW The Quality Engineer supports the Quality Assurance department within the engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operation. This role provides quality engineering support across new product introduction, process development, and continuous improvement activities, while ensuring compliance with applicable civil aviation authority regulations (FAA, EASA, TCCA, and CAAC). The Quality Engineer works cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Quality to maintain and improve the quality management system and to support engine programs including LEAP and the Power engine program under development by FTAI. Responsibilities: * Provide QA support to production, engineering, and customer-facing teams across daily shop floor operations and program activities. * Support new product introduction (NPI) activities for engine programs, including Power , from planning through entry into service. * Develop, document, and implement quality processes and procedures to support MRO operations and continuous improvement initiatives. * Plan and facilitate workshops with cross-functional stakeholders to drive process improvements, root cause analysis, and corrective action. * Define, interpret, and flow down quality requirements from OEMs, customers, and regulatory authorities into internal work instructions and specifications. * Support project management of quality-related initiatives, including scheduling, resource coordination, and status reporting to leadership. * Participate in and support the Change Review Board (CRB), evaluating proposed engineering, process, and documentation changes for quality impact. * Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, TCCA, and CAAC regulatory requirements applicable to engine MRO operations and quality system approvals. * Support activities associated with the Design Approval Organization (DAO) under CAR 521 of Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA). * Investigate nonconformances, escalations, and audit findings; drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action to closure. * Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including preparation of objective evidence and response to findings. * Maintain quality records and metrics, and report trends to QA leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 3-6 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related discipline within aerospace, engine MRO, or manufacturing. * Working knowledge of FAA, EASA, TCCA, and CAAC regulatory requirements as applied to engine maintenance and repair. * Familiarity with Design Approval Organization (DAO) requirements under CAR 521 of TCCA, or willingness/ability to develop this expertise. * Experience supporting new product introduction and change management processes (e.g., Change Review Board) preferred. * Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa). * Working knowledge of AS9100/AS9110 quality management system requirements. * Strong project management, facilitation, and cross-functional communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality/ERP systems. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: * Combination of office and engine shop floor environment; may require use of PPE in production areas. * Occasional travel may be required to support audits, supplier visits, or program activities.
