Position Summary The General Labourer – Saw Room is responsible for measuring, cutting, and handling pipe materials within a manufacturing environment. The incumbent operates various saws and hand tools to prepare materials according to production requirements while maintaining quality, safety, and housekeeping standards. Key Responsibilities Measure and cut pipe materials to required lengths using bandsaws, roller saws, chop saws, and other appropriate equipment. Read and use tape measures and basic hand tools accurately. Load, unload, move, and organize pipe materials and finished products within the work area. Inspect materials and finished cuts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform basic equipment cleaning and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns. Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements. Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers to meet production goals and deadlines. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: No specific educational requirements. Experience Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered an asset. Certification Forklift certification is considered an asset. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions are required. Work Environment Indoor manufacturing environment. Regular exposure to industrial noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures, including periods of elevated heat. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company policy. Compensation And Schedule Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm.
