Junior Process Engineer

Job Description Gas Cleaning Technologies LLC (GCT) is a process and environmental consulting engineering firm headquartered in Irving, Texas. GCT provides specialized process engineering and multi-disciplinary capabilities to the minerals, ferrous and non-ferrous metals industries. GCT is looking for a Junior Process Engineer meeting the following criteria: MS or BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering Experience in construction and industrial design an asset Experience with MS Office Suite and AutoCAD an asset Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling an asset Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship GCT serves clients across the globe from four locations: Irving, TX; Chicago, IL; Vancouver, BC; and Singapore. This open position will be for the Chicago office. Job Purpose Works under the direction of a senior process engineer to conduct testing and evaluation of existing emissions control systems as well as developing process design for modifications and major industrial expansions. This includes developing MS Excel based process models, Computational Fluid Dynamic models, Fathom pressure profile models, process flow diagrams, and reports. Specific Duties Conduct site visits for ductwork and building ventilation surveys Conduct site visits for inspection of ventilation systems Conduct research on alternate approaches, techniques and criteria for evaluation and design consideration Prepare MS Excel based calculations for process and ventilation design Develop CFD models Develop Fathom models Prepare process flow diagrams in AutoCAD Prepare equipment list Prepare procurement specifications and datasheets Prepare bid evaluation and recommendations Interact with clients and vendors Develop charts and diagrams to help summarize/visualize test work and analysis results Develop project reports and presentations Interact with designers to develop sketches and drawings Develop cost estimates Work as a member of a project team

The role involves conducting testing and evaluation of emissions control systems and developing process designs for industrial expansions. Key tasks include creating process models, CFD models, and preparing technical reports and procurement specifications.

Candidates must have a BS or MS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering and authorization to work in the US without sponsorship. Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and CFD modeling is considered an asset.
