Field Technician Gas Recon Inc. (GRI), a subsidiary of LiDAR Services International Inc. (LSI), is currently hiring Seasonal Field Technicians. ​ GRI specializes in natural gas leak detection and emissions monitoring, supporting pipeline and facility emissions management. Job Description: Gas Recon field techs play a key role in providing safe and efficient ground and airborne methane detection services on behalf of pipeline owners / operators across Western Canada. Responsibilities: Operate line locating, leak detection and GPS/GIS equipment in outdoor environments. Walk 10-20 km per day in various terrain and weather conditions- applicants must be in good health and reasonably fit. Travel to out-of-town project locations will be required depending on client needs. Training, accommodation, and travel subsistence will be provided. A clean Class 5 driver’s license and valid First Aid certification. First Aid training or certificate renewal can be arranged. Opportunities to participate in our airborne sensing missions. Standard work rotation is 15 Days on / 6 days off. Experience: Experience is not essential; however, preference will be given to those with prior line locating experience, a background in GPS/GIS applications, those who love working & playing in the outdoors, and have a demonstrated work ethic.​ Education: High school or equivalent (base level) Technical institute certification or current enrollment (preferred) Licenses/Certificates: Drivers License (Class 5) Standard First Aid / CPR C (preferred) WHMIS 2015 (preferred) Line Locating (preferred) Compensation: Gas Recon offers a competitive wage package, starting at $22 per hour, with higher rates available based on previous experience. Our standard rotation is 15 days on (10-hour days) followed by 6 days off. Overtime pay is provided for any hours worked beyond 40 per week. There are opportunities for advancement into a Lead Technician role, where you would oversee and manage field crews and project execution.
