Benefits of Joining the Gate Gourmet Team include: Being part of a leading team in a dynamic global business Opportunity for career growth & advancement Training Competitive wages Health & Dental Benefits Pension Plan Free Parking Subsidized Meals Company wide corporate discounts such as Good Life Fitness, TELUS Mobility, Bell Mobility, Rogers and Dell Computers Key responsibilities include: Carrying out general repairs as required within and the exterior of the facility Carrying out repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, motor controls, pump seals, and motor bearings Welding and fabricating Preventative maintenance Monitoring and maintaining two high pressure boilers and 2 low pressure boilers General upkeep of the facility in a 24/7 steam & refrigeration plant Troubleshoot and repair industrial kitchen equipment Qualifications: Have a 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering certificate Minimum 1 year experience as a maintenance tech working on electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, welding, commercial kitchen equipment, trouble shooting electrical faults and motor controls required Job Specific Requirements: Previous maintenance experience is an asset Capable to Work Under pressure, Knowledge of HACCP procedures, Good communications skills, written, reading, speaking Willing to work shift work 24 hours / 7days, team player Needs to be mechanically inclined Knowledge in Electrical, plumbing, welding, troubleshooting, refrigeration / HVAC is an asset Our Employees Must Be Able to: Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays Work Overtime when required Follow written specifications directions Good communication skills reading/ writing Complete paperwork Communicate with Supervisors and co-workers Follow directions Work as a member of a team Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred Must hold in good standing valid 4th or 5th class Power Engineering Certificate Environmental Requirements: Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to seventy-five(75) pounds Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours Rate of Pay: CA$38.01 per hour (CA $3 per hour premium for candidates holding a valid 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate) If you want to be part of a team that helps make travel and culinary memories, join us!

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on facility equipment including plumbing, electrical, and industrial kitchen systems. They must also monitor high and low-pressure boilers and ensure the general upkeep of the facility in a 24/7 production environment.

Candidates must hold a valid 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering certificate and possess at least one year of relevant maintenance experience. The role requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and the physical capacity to lift up to 75 pounds.
